Based in the shadows of the Pacific Northwest, Geist & the Sacred Ensemble forge a doom-inflected folk ritualism: dirges laced with experimental psychedelia, post-rock, and meditative eeriness. Dark, slow burning and immersive. Their music has been featured in Decibel Magazine, Metal Injection, Brooklyn Vegan, Tiny Mix Tape and more.
Diminished Men are an instrumental group formed by guitarist Steve Schmitt, drummer Dave Abramson (Master Musicians of Bukkake, Climax Golden Twins, Secret Chiefs 3, Lori Goldston) and bassist Simon Henneman (Wayne Horvitz). Distorted through a shattered lens, they refocus elements of experimental rock, psychedelia, surf, sci-fi exotica, noir and horror film soundtracks into something entirely unique. Since 2005 the band has been crafting their jagged, hard-charging approach and cinema obscura ethos, but it was their multiple LP releases on the Sun City Girls label, Abduction Records, that got the band wider recognition for their creative and distinctive sound.
