Winners of the 2024 JUNO Award for Blues Album of the Year, Blue Moon Marquee writes and performs original music influenced by anything that swings, jumps or grooves. Led by A.W. Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Colette, a.k.a. Badlands Jass (vocals/bass/drums), the band stomps and struts through blues, jazz, jump jive, folk, country, swing and Indigenous soul—somewhere Howlin’ Wolf tangos with Django and Memphis Minnie throws dice with Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.

Blue Moon Marquee braids vintage roots music with poetic lyrics that explore the underbelly of society and elements of Indigenous storytelling. Following their 2024 JUNO win and another Blues Album of the Year nomination in 2025, they’re on the road with a full band delivering a stylish, spellbinding sound that reaches deep into tradition while remaining entirely their own.
