Death Valley GirlsSpotify | Bandcamp | Twitter | Instagram | YoutubeFor the better part of a decade, LA’s scrappy rock n’ roll mystics Death Valley Girls have used their music as a means of tapping into a communal cosmic energy. On albums like Glow In The Dark (2016), Darkness Rains (2018), and Under the Spell of Joy (2020) the band challenged the soul-crushing banality of modern society and celebrated “true magical infinite potential” through a collage of scorching proto-punk riffs, earworm melodies, far-out lyrics, and lysergic auxiliary instrumentation. But on their latest album Islands in the Sky, Death Valley Girls’ songwriting mastermind Bonnie Bloomgarden uses the band’s anthemic revelries as a guidebook to spiritual healing and a roadmap for future incarnations of the self. And while these may be the loftiest aims of Death Valley Girls to date, the resulting music is also by far their most infectious and celebratory.TelehealthInstagram | Spotify | Youtube"Seattle's Hottest New Pop Sensation" Telehealth is an unpredictable pop band with heavy nods to post-punk, minimal synth, egg-punk, new wave, art rock, glam, and krautrock. Their debut album, Content Oscillator, is an angular collection of songs that alleviate the modern challenge of ‘just trying to not suck’ in the greenwashed, neoliberal, trash fire of a world we have built for ourselves. Utilizing a palette of cold arpeggiated synthesizers, sharp drum machines, herky-jerky rhythms, angular guitar work, melodic bass lines, and stupidly catchy melodies dowsed in honest sarcasm… Content Oscillator embraces the absurdity and contradictory nature of the world we live in. Telehealth is a way of thinking and questioning our world and our place within it. Although the future is much stupider than originally advertised, Telehealth works together with the world's largest and most innovative corporations to offer solutions. The world is sick!!! Telehealth aims to relieve the painful symptoms of modern dread. Telehealth is driven to suspend disbelief about change, but it is also a way of making-do of this dystopian reality we live in. That is all to say, Telehealth is not a famous band, but they are trying to become a famous band. Telehealth is a for profit company.Spirit AwardSpotify | YoutubeSpirit Award is the moniker for Seattle-based singer/songwriter Daniel Lyon with collaboration with bassist Chris Jordan (Sunny Day Real Estate) and other various musicians. The band's vision has always been to make something with intention, love, vulnerability, raw emotion, and authenticity that captures the human spirit. The sound has morphed into a feeling and sound that is motorik, psychedelic, fuzzy, ethereal, driving, and aggressive but still maintains some pop sensibilities, citing the work of Arthur Russell, Neu!, and Suicide among their inspiration.
