St. Patrick’s Day with Ramblxr (aka Elias Alexander), Schmid & Guest (of Polecat)
About
9pm - Ramblxr (aka Elias Alexander)SoundcloudYoutubeIn the years preceding the pandemic Elias Alexander made a name for himself as one of America’s finest exponents of traditional Scottish music, touring the US, Canada, and Europe, and playing festivals such as Celtic Connections (Glasgow) and Celtic Colors (Cape Breton). When the first lockdowns hit, he turned his attention towards production and songwriting. The unveiling of his new project Ramblxr (pronounced “rambler”) finds him mixing the traditional Scottish and American folk music of his youth with tasty and exuberant dance beats. Electronic music with an ancient depth of heart. For the Ramblxr live show, Elias weaves together live looping, sampling, electronic beats, and acoustic instruments—bagpipes, fiddle, electric guitar, percussion, whistles and keyboards—to create an emotional, dance-fueled journey, fiddle disco, bagpipe dubstep, Gaelic-funk-house fun! 8pm - Schmid & Guest (of Polecat)FacebookCayley Schmid and Aaron Guest met at the Bellingham Farmers Market. Desperately jealous of each other's busking success, they neutralized the competition and started a band together. They play lively instrumental Celtic music on fiddle and piano.
