About
With members drawn together from all across the Salish Sea by a mutual love of traditional music and knitwear, Sweater Weather String Band blends old-time, honky-tonk, Celtic, and indie rock influences into a style that has been likened to “the frolicking of sheep before a thunderstorm.” Formed from a series of jams and impromptu gigs, the band quickly developed a wildly danceable sound that’s been heard at festivals, folk dances, and bars throughout the Northwest. "Sweater Weather String Band performed numerous times at Sisters Folk Festival ’23 and brought great energy, skilled musicianship and a whole lot of fun. They were integral in connecting with our community and sharing generously their love of string band music, community dances and performing live. Very well received!" ~ Brad Tisdel, Creative Director, Sisters Folk Festival"Sweater Weather String Band is awesome! Among the best music happening on the Olympic Peninsula. Always a crowd pleaser. These guys rock the house." ~ Danny Milholland, executive director of The Production Alliance Bete Grise (Bay-Deh Gree)Bete Grise is a psychedelic alt-country project rooted in the haunted beauty of Upper Michigan and shaped by cross-country travels and life on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula.
