About
Theatre of Hate is a British post-punk band formed in London in 1980 by singer-songwriter Kirk Brandon, following the breakup of his earlier punk group The Pack. Known for their dramatic sound that blended punk energy with saxophone-driven atmospheres, the band quickly gained a reputation for intense live performances. Their breakthrough came with the single “Do You Believe in the Westworld?” and the 1982 album Westworld, produced by Mick Jones of The Clash. Though the band initially disbanded in the early 1980s, Theatre of Hate later reunited for recordings and tours, remaining influential in the post-punk and gothic rock scenes. The Bolshoi Brothers (formerly The Bolshoi) are an indie rock duo featuring singer-guitarist Trevor Tanner and keyboardist Paul Clark, both original members of the influential 1980s new wave band The Bolshoi. After decades pursuing separate musical projects, the pair reunited in the early 2020s to create new music while honoring the legacy of their earlier band. Blending elements of post-punk, alternative rock, and atmospheric songwriting, The Bolshoi Brothers released their self-titled debut album in 2025 and continue performing both new material and select songs from The Bolshoi catalog.
